Soundproofing requirements

The acoustic design for the car park of the Berengarra Aged Care Facility requires substantial reduction of the car noise in this car park that is surrounded by many houses. The ground floor car park has a concrete floor and concrete soffits. Therefore, superior broad-band sound absorption panels are needed that can tackle low-frequency noise, such as motorbike ramble and car noise.

Aesthetically the acoustic panels blend into the existing space.

A water repellent solution is needed because some sides of the car park are open and therefore the acoustic panels will be exposed to the elements.

Megasorber FM100

100mm lightweight acoustic panels with water-repellent Grey Soundmesh® G8 facing.

Megasorber A200

High tack and temperature resistant adhesive using the latest polymer-alloy technology. Available in sausages and cartridges.

Megasorber A200SG CW Adhesive

  • High sound absorption capabilities: NRC 1.0.
  • Excellent thermal insulation.
  • AS5637.1 BCA Group 1 fire classification.
  • Water repellent Soundmesh® G8 facing.
  • Lightweight and easy to install.
  • Cost effective to install.

Megasorber FM100 acoustic panels with grey water repellent Soundmesh® G8 facing are direct fix installed on the concrete soffit using Megasorber A200 adhesive.
On the side of the car park where the panels are exposed to the elements, the panels are inserted in metal J channels.
The Megasorber tape is used to join panel parts where cutting is needed, for example around lights and cameras.
