Soundproofing requirements

The Healthways swimming pool is extremely popular among community members, especially the swimming lessons for children. Before the refurbishment, there was no acoustic treatment, and the swimming pool had significant echo and reverberation issues, making it hard to understand the coach’s instructions and conversations. Megasorber FM25 acoustic panels were selected to address this concern.

The acoustic panels were direct-fixed onto the concrete soffit, making it an extremely cost-effective solution. These acoustic panels significantly reduced the echo and reverberation, resulting in superior speech intelligibility. Aesthetically the white acoustic ceiling panels lighten up the swimming pool. The patrons and staff are very pleased with the outcome.

Installation

Megasorber FM25 acoustic panels were direct-fixed on the concrete soffit of the swimming pool with Megasorber A200 adhesive. Panels were positioned evenly on the ceiling, with a gap between panels to form a shadow line finish. Find here the beam and slab layout.

The installation was completed in 2018.
