patented sound absorption system

Superior Acoustic Performance
The Megasorber FM panel utilises a patented non-combustible sound absorbing facing material Soundmesh® G8 to achieve superior sound absorption.
Soundmesh® G8 facing breaks the soundwave down into smaller components and then traps and dissipates the soundwave within the foam behind it. The acoustic impedance of G8 is tuned to maximise sound absorption.
In contrast, traditional sound reflecting film facings (such as aluminium foil, mylar film and polyurethane film) have little or zero acoustic properties and block noise from being absorbed by the underlying foam.
Highest fire rating (BCA Group 1)
Megasorber FM is inherently fire-resistant and has Building Code Australia (BCA) Group 1 fire rating as per AS 5637.1-2015 and ISO 5660 Group 1 fire classification.
It has ASTM E84-21a Classification A and BS EN 13501-1 Classification of B-s2d0.
No ignition, melting, dripping or spread of flame when exposed to fire. A demonstration video is shown below.

Exceptionally High Thermal Insulation
Megasorber FM is engineered with an extremely fine cell structure to trap air and block heat transfer. It provides exceptional thermal insulation, making it one of the most effective lightweight thermal insulation materials, especially for soffit thermal insulation requirements.
Heat, Aging and UV Resistant
The Megasorber FM base foam has excellent heat, UV and aging resistance. It can withstand up to 240°C (short time) without decomposition and up to 140°C continuous operating temperature without distortion. Megasorber FM is durable (long service life) in hot and humid conditions such as marine and tropical environments.
Water-Repellent G8 Facing (Optional)
A fluid/water repellent Soundmesh® G8 is also available. The built-in fluid/water repellent property (optional) of Soundmesh® G8 provides easy cleaning and maintenance, making it ideal for outdoor applications.
Handling, Installation and Maintenance
Megasorber FM acoustic foam is extremely lightweight and self-supporting, making it easy to handle, cut and install. The Soundmesh® G8 facing is protective, tough and durable. Finger marks, dirt marks and surface contamination can be easily removed and cleaned using Megasorber Clean M8 block.
